WHO IS GSOC?
Four business units comprise Georgia System Operations Corporation.
In addition to the two control centers, System Operations includes the energy control and metering systems, telecommunications and operations engineering departments. These departments help maintain the system.
DATA SYSTEMS, SETTLEMENTS & FINANCE
This group captures and manages transactional and operational data, operates and maintains various custom applications and data portals, provides energy accounting services, administers select energy contracts, and performs traditional finance and accounting functions for the corporation.
LEGAL & COMPLIANCE
Our Legal group oversees GSOC’s legal issues, including contract negotiations and agreements with our Member-owners. Regulatory compliance has become a crucial part of our business, one that necessitates a department focused on that aspect of our daily operations. The group is housed in our legal business unit, separating it from System Operations, since that’s the department it monitors and advises in regard to NERC regulations.
The Shared Services business unit was created to manage the support services of GSOC, GTC and OPC: accounts payable, audit, board administration, campus services, communication, human resources, information technology, payroll, records administration and training.
