Four departments comprise System Operations:  Operations Engineering, Energy Control Systems, Control Area Operations and Transmission Operations.

Our Operations Engineering and Energy Control Systems groups provide continuous support in the areas of engineering and energy management tools, which allow for 24/7 operation of our two primary functions, Control Area Operations and Transmission Operations.

In Control Area Operations, we dispatch available generation and purchased power resources to meet the load and sale requirements of the Member Systems, as well as the sales and purchase commitments of other customers.

Transmission Operations continuously monitors the transmission system for safe and reliable operations, including monitoring equipment, managing planned line and equipment outages for maintenance without service disruption, and restoring power during unplanned outages.
