Who is GSOC?
In addition to the energy and transmission control centers, System Operations includes the Energy Control and Metering Systems, which develops the computer systems and real-time data displays and storage; Telecommunications, which manages real-time data gathering across the wide-area network and the wireless and telephone system; and Operations Engineering, which handles analysis and research, specification development and operator training.
Data Systems & Settlements handles the contracts, data and information side, including hourly energy accounting, data archiving, reporting, calculation of hourly energy imbalances, administration of post-operational pseudo scheduling, calculation of transmission services charges, contracts and tariff administration, and billing of non-Member generators. In support of the Member-owners, the group develops and operates customized software programs to capture, process, and deliver post-operational data and reports.
Legal, Finance & Compliance manages corporate compliance oversight, regulatory affairs coordination and legal affairs coordination, as well as business and strategic planning, risk analysis, business continuity initiatives, executive information systems, and benchmarking and process improvements. Finance & Treasury oversees accounting, financial reporting and budgeting.
Shared Services provides the support functions for GSOC, OPC and GTC: audit and consulting, accounts payable, board administration, communications, facility services, human resources, payroll, records administration and training services. Shared Services Information Technology handles all infrastructure-related issues and projects for the Family of Companies.
